What is StarRise Weyr and the Shared Tenth Pass? Quite simply, we're an old-fashioned writing group based on the world of Pern. Our version of Pern closely resembles the Pern written about by Anne McCaffrey. We have a few differences, however - fannish creations that are the answer the to 'what if' questions asked by the original creators of StarRise and the rest of the Shared Tenth Pass.
We are a fanzine based writing group. What that means is that we focus on writing stories, submitting them for editing, then compiling them into a publication, complete with illustrations. We release the publication, called Out of the Blue, twice a year, on March 1st and September 1st.
StarRise maintains two methods of continuous contact with the group and the members of the group: the forum and the discussion mailing list.
